About Boloy

Boloy started with a simple observation at Rajshahi University and Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET): plenty of students need quick, everyday help — picking up a parcel, grabbing groceries, printing an assignment before class — and plenty of other students would gladly earn a little money doing exactly that. There just wasn't a trusted way to connect the two.

The name বলয় (Boloy) means "circle" — that's the idea. We started with two campuses on purpose: every account is tied to a verified student, and every accepted bid is held in escrow until the task is actually done, because inside a circle this size, trust isn't optional, it's the whole product. As more campuses join, each one gets its own circle — its own task feed — so students only see and work with people from their own university.

We also think doing this kind of work is nothing to be ashamed of. Plenty of places in the world treat part-time work, small businesses, and helping a neighbor out in an emergency as something to be proud of. That's the standard we're building toward here.
